yet another day to be remembered in life :)

It was a big day for me !!!

We were taken for school visit to two schools for exceptional children.... one was Leonard deaf and dumb school and the second was Anbagam home for mentally retarded children.....

We complain and find reasons for not showing interest in studies....but these tiny tots were so curious about learning things overcoming their disabilities
:)

The assembly program/prayer program by the special children was awesome... there were many items like, thought for the day, verses from bible, thirukkural,News, explanation of real life objects with pluck cards, nursery rhyme,tables,numbers... IT WAS AMAZING....

The teachers are doing a great job here....there is a chance of de-motivation when there is slow/no improvement in the students ....but their tireless efforts kindle these young minds coming out with sounds, words, simple sentences if not gestures at least...SALUTE TO THE TEACHERS :)

many of my friends burst into tears, seeing their efforts to spell each word, grasp the word when we talk to them.....the school dint promote sign language instead the students grasp the sounds by lip reading alone...

In anbagam home special children are trained with the skills of ADL-activities of daily life..

the students are trained to do their daily chores independently and earn by monotonous jobs like gardening, plate making, binding etc.

In both the schools there were girls of my name.....they were so excited that we share same name.... she wrote our names :) and gave me .....

yet another day to be remembered in my life :)

A great habit with great people is 'Listening'.

You'll love the following lines,
' Listening is not waiting for the other to finish their talk, its far beyond that'.

Listen, what the other utters. Then refer your brilliance filled brain if they are right or wrong.

And then you decide whether to accept it or not.

When you do like this, you can have an opportunity in every second to think and decide from different angles.

Then, what?
Everyone would say, ' Dar! you decide great". Also, heroism guaranteed.

Get the speaker beyond their retina, grasp their matter,  suck like a sponge.

Because,

'Readers are not great, when compared to listeners'

LISTEN. CREATE JOY

Do you know, what is so special with eagle?

When it rains, other birds come down. But, eagle and some big birds fly high above the sky to avoid the rain.

You are ought to be like this, Staying high.

Maintaining a greater levels and standards makes you appear like a divine creation. It gives you fame and name.

Always try this common one said with the common example.

STAY HIGH. CREATE JOY

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley.

A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it.

Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart. Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said,

"Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine." The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges.

In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing.

The people stared -- how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they thought? The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed. "You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears.

"Yes," said the old man, "yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared. Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me.

These are the empty gouges -- giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out.

He offered it to the old man with trembling hands. The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. It fit,

But not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges. The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man's heart flowed into his. They embraced and walked away side by side.

Message for the day:
A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like island.
The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agreed that they had no other recourse but to pray to God.  However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.
The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and! he was able to eat its fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren.
After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife. The next day, there was a woman who swam to his side of the land.
On the other side of the island, there was nothing.
Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the second man still had nothing.
Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife could leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the island. The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second man on the island. He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered.
As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven booming, "
Why are you leaving your companion on the island?"
"My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them," the first man answered. "His prayers were all unanswered and so he does not deserve anything."
"You are mistaken!" the voice rebuked him. "He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings."
"Tell me," the first man asked the voice, "what did he pray for that I should owe him anything?"
"He prayed that all your prayers be answered."

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us…...

My prayer for you today is that all your prayers are answered. Be blessed!

"What you do for others is more important and Blissful than what you do for yours
DO READ IT!!!

"A storeowner was tacking a sign above his door that read "Puppies for Sale." Signs like that have a way of attracting small children, and sure enough a little boy appeared under the storeowner's sign. "How much are you going to sell the puppies for?" the little boy asked. The storeowner replied, "anywhere from $30 to $50."
The little boy reached into his pocket and pulled out some change. "I have $2.37 he said. "May I please look at them?" The storeowner smiled and whistled and out of the kennel came Lady, who ran down the aisle of his store followed by five teeny, tiny balls of fur.
One puppy was lagging considerably behind. Immediately the little boy singled out the lagging, limping puppy and said, "What's wrong with that little dog?" The storeowner explained that the veterinarian had examined the little puppy and had discovered that it didn't have a hip socket. It would always limp. It would always be lame.

The little boy became excited. "That is the puppy I want to buy." The storeowner said, "No, you don't want to buy that little dog. If you really want him, I'll just give him to you."
The little boy got quite upset. He looked straight into the store owner's eyes, pointing his finger, and said, "I don't want you to give him to me. That little dog is worth every bit as much as all the other dogs and I'll pay full price. In fact, I'll give you $2.37 now and 50 cents a month until I have him paid for."
The storeowner countered, "You really don't want to buy this little dog. He is never going to be able to run and jump and play with you like the other puppies."
To his surprise, the little boy reached down and rolled up his pant leg to reveal a badly twisted, crippled left leg supported by a big metal brace. He looked up at the storeowner and softly replied, "Well, I don't run so well myself, and the little puppy will need someone who understands."
Wow! I loved this story. It made me think how sometimes God gives us struggles and pain so that we can be that "someone" who understands.
